Dissociation of the Frame explores the quiet collapse of permanence — dissolving classical ideals, architectural structure, and historical symbolism into a fragmented contemporary space where nothing remains entirely fixed. A sculptural bust, traditionally associated with perfection, permanence, and idealised beauty, is pulled away from its original historical context and suspended within a shifting environment of unfinished forms, drifting colour, distorted imagery, and fractured spatial logic.

Muted tones move hypnotically across the canvas surface, interrupted by sudden pops of colour, imperfect lines, and fragmented objects that seem both recognisable and strangely displaced. Candle holders appear stripped of purpose, their forms partially dissolved into abstracted pathways and coloured shapes. Architectural structures remain unfinished, drifting somewhere between construction and collapse. Time itself feels unstable here — stretched, fragmented, and disconnected from linear understanding.

Rather than existing as a traditional image to simply observe, the work was created as a liminal space for the viewer to mentally move through. Layer upon layer opens into shifting visual pathways, drawing the eye deeper into an uncertain psychological landscape where composition behaves more like memory than physical reality. The painting becomes less about viewing and more about wandering — travelling through fragments of history, symbolism, identity, and perception that no longer fully belong to their original forms.

Central to the work is the recurring idea of the frame; a concept explored throughout much of my wider practice. Here, the frame no longer acts as a stable boundary separating artwork from viewer, past from present, or structure from disorder. Instead, it begins to psychologically dissolve alongside everything else within the composition. The frame fragments, architecture fragments, symbolism fragments — even time itself loses coherence.

The work does not reject classical beauty, but instead attempts to release it from rigid historical expectations. By allowing these once-fixed symbols to drift into abstraction, distortion, and emotional space, the painting opens a more fluid dialogue between permanence and change, order and collapse, memory and reinvention.

Existing somewhere between dream, ruin, and reconstruction, Dissociation of the Frame captures the uneasy beauty of things no longer confined to their original meaning — suspended instead within a space where the viewer is invited not simply to look, but to lose themselves momentarily inside it.

Art rooted in memory, feeling, and quiet observation; created for the souls who have always existed slightly outside the edges of belonging. I am endlessly grateful to share these fragments with people across the world, and I hope the work has reached something deep within you. Commissions are open, and I look forward to continuing to create pieces that resonate, linger, and inspire.
