Created two years after my university degree, Spring Breaking Through returns to many of the visual languages that continue to quietly weave themselves throughout my practice — flowing organic line work, softened washes of colour, layered emotional atmosphere, and the tension between stillness and movement. Bathed in delicate blues, muted purples, and translucent white forms, the work exists within the fragile moment where winter begins to loosen its grip and the world slowly remembers how to breathe again.

Drifting shapes resembling petals, waterfalls, blooming forms, and rising drips move gently across the surface; creating an almost weightless sense of motion, as though the painting itself is thawing in real time. Some marks fall downward whilst others rise upward against gravity, mirroring the emotional contradiction often carried within periods of transition — the simultaneous heaviness and hope that accompany personal renewal.

One of the central elements within the composition is a sheer white oval positioned toward the lower right of the canvas. Surrounded by thick impasto textures forming a subtle raised border, the shape acts almost as a quiet window or protected space within the work itself. Emerging from within it is a small blue bloom — delicate, restrained, yet quietly persistent.

The flower becomes a symbol of resilience, softness, and the understated beauty of survival. A reminder that even after the coldest emotional seasons, life continues searching for ways to return.

Inspired by the first slow mornings of early spring — cool air, moving water, softened light, and the fragile reappearance of growth — the piece reflects the subtle shifts constantly unfolding both within nature and within ourselves. It captures the quiet transition between stillness and becoming; the moment where something frozen finally begins to move again.

In a world that often feels loud, urgent, and overwhelming, the work offers a softer pause — an invitation to notice the smallest forms of renewal quietly unfolding beneath the surface.

Art rooted in memory, feeling, and quiet observation; created for the souls who have always existed slightly outside the edges of belonging. I am endlessly grateful to share these fragments with people across the world, and I hope the work has reached something deep within you. Commissions are open, and I look forward to continuing to create pieces that resonate, linger, and inspire.
