Aura Series

Aura Through Life
A three-piece mixed-media series created during my Fine Art degree at Arts University Bournemouth in 2024.

We never exist as one fixed version of ourselves. We arrive in fragments, phases, contradictions, memories, and imagined futures — constantly shifting somewhere between who we were, who we are becoming, and who we quietly hope to be.

Aura Through Life explores the unseen emotional energy carried through identity over time; the invisible aura held within memory, personal growth, inner monologue, and human becoming. Through layered mixed-media abstraction, expressive mark-making, playful colour, and fluid forms, the series attempts to visualise the parts of ourselves that often remain hidden beneath everyday perception.

Each canvas exists as its own emotional state — past, present, and future — connected through recurring symbols, drifting line work, and moments of tension between chaos and softness. The works embrace playfulness and childlike curiosity whilst simultaneously holding space for uncertainty, overwhelm, longing, and transformation.

The series asks us to consider:
Do we ever truly become one complete version of ourselves — or are we simply collections of every person we have ever been, still unfolding all at once?

Who She Was
A reflection on childhood, nostalgia, and the emotional freedom carried within younger versions of ourselves. Bright colour palettes, playful gestures, loose movement, and wandering forms attempt to capture the innocence, curiosity, and imaginative chaos of youth — the parts of ourselves that continue to echo quietly long after we outgrow them.

Who She Turned Out to Be
An exploration of present-day identity and internal monologue; balancing playfulness with emotional noise, pressure, confusion, and overstimulation. Layered marks and overlapping forms create a sense of claustrophobia and restless thought, reflecting the complicated reality of adulthood and the constant negotiation between who we are privately and who we appear to be externally.

Who She’s still dreaming of becoming
A softer, more spacious meditation on hope, manifestation, comfort, and future becoming. While traces of uncertainty remain, the work leans toward peace, openness, and emotional clarity — imagining a future self shaped not by perfection, but by acceptance, growth, and the freedom to exist more gently within the world.

Art rooted in memory, feeling, and quiet observation; created for the souls who have always existed slightly outside the edges of belonging. I am endlessly grateful to share these fragments with people across the world, and I hope the work has reached something deep within you. Commissions are open, and I look forward to continuing to create pieces that resonate, linger, and inspire.
